Hello DD Ladies!
Long time, no blog. We were out for a walk today in the West Village and were having one of our “We Love New York” moments so we were inspired to blog about our gushy love for the city we call home. Where else can you stroll around on a lunch break and all in a few blocks you hit your fav designer shops, grab an overpriced but delish cupcake and see a bit of TV history.
Anyone know who’s stoop this is? We’ll give you a hint. She’s seriously fashion obsessed, sips Cosmos with her three besties and has countless Big problems.
Aw, stoops—they are like NYC porn for us (we realize this sounds strange to non-New Yorkers). But we love them!

funded by the state of new york (and currently seeking to continue their work via renewed grant status), showroom new york's fundamental principles reside in supporting young new york city design talents who produce their goods in the city's historic garment district.
essentially a launch pad for new designers, for doucette duvall.... they are something else: a forum for which we can more vocally support our pledge to garment district preservation.
dd's vision is to continue manufacturing in nyc as we grow. there is plenty of talent in new york and we are firmly committed to knowing that talent on a personal level. and resources are available for those of us interested in finding them.
we are thrilled to be a part of the community that showroom new york provides. and the we look forward to aligning our brand more visible with the noble cause to save new york's garment district.

august has only given us one week so far but WOWZA what a week it has been!! in the glamorous world of dd, there has been our first delivery to barneys, the libby skirt in the september issue of teen vogue and twilight's ashley greene in entertainment weekly wearing hot pink wrigley!!
in world news, sonya sotomayor was finally confirmed by the u.s. senate as the nation's first hispanic supreme court justice. can you imagine having to go through all of that drama for TEN whole weeks. i am not a political commentator at all so you can check out the story here. all i can say is WORK IT MIJA!
i would also like to take the time out to give a huge thank you to Mr. John Hughes who passed yesterday at the young age of 59. if it weren't for him directing such classics as sixteen candles, the breakfast club and ferris bueller's day off, teen movies would not have been the same. anyone who knows me knows that my life would be empty without my teen movie quotes! also,

austin, texas had it's first ever fashion week this week and i have heard that things are going very well. sunday, one of my best friends is working the run at the fashion awards. i know she will be as fierce as tyra. congrats to austin and julia on your first fashion week. may you both have many more years of getting your fash-on!!
in other fashion news, i read online that there is a lounge in soho for female models repped by top agencies only! the goal of the lounge is to provide the models with a place to hang out, change and relax between casting calls. this club for cat walkers is open thru fashion week so if you are a model check it out.
i have been getting some really positive feedback from my interview talking doucette duvall with KXAN. it was so exciting to see that it was posted on yahoo fashion news and on nydailynews.com. thanks to everyone for the support and love! - jonathan.

*if you could ban people from wearing one thing, what would it be? crocs. those things are not okay unless you are under the age of 10.
*what is your beverage of choice? my grown and sexy drink is belvedere and tonic. my fun party drink is sailor jerry's and coke.
*blackberry or iphone? i am all about the blackberry bold. when all of those people stood in line for the new iphone, my blackberry and i laughed and then proceeded to copy and paste. i don't know how i would get anything done if i could bbm the dd girls.
*what is your MUST HAVE accessory? i have really been feeling my fedora and vest with a neck or bow tie. bow tie for sure!

we are rolling out the red carpet for dd's very own press agent/social secretary jonathan valdez. he will be sharing the blogging duties so our posts will be more often! he has a GREAT personality and is full of humor that entertains us on a daily basis. we are looking forward to sharing the entertainment with our dd fans! i also must add that he is THE KING of social networking.

just read an article about this place in la magazine - lula holistic mini spa. im already obsessed and now dying for a facial. owner leanne relocated from nyc to silver lake after working as a makeup artist for laura mercier and jillian dempsey (yes, patrick's wife). she opened this heavenly little place that uses potent but all plant based products. la mag says its the best 75 minute facial they've had! maybe a dd event/field trip to california soon????

summer rayne oakes walking the red carpet for the Heart of Green Awards on april 23 in nyc.
she caught our eye in her doucette duvall freddie black flame dress!! we give her major props not only for wearing dd but because she won a heart of green award! summer is the author of Style, Naturally: The Savvy Shopping Guide to Sustainable Fashion and Beauty. She also is the host of Discovery's 24 hour green station, Planet Green. She also recently launched a line of sustainable shoes - Zac & Zoe - with Payless!!

i woke up last saturday and did my normal thing... coffee, people.com, perezhilton.com, email check... and stumbled upon this pic of eva mendes wearing our beatrice dress in sun earlier this month at london's heathrow airport. needless to say, we were all really excited. eva "shut it down." thanks bg!!

Naomi Watts hosted the opening of Ben Watt's first solo exhibition at Milk Studios on September 2nd. His exhibition - called Big Up! - brought together celebs like Joshua Jackson, David Schwimmer, Damon Dash and model May Anderson. Ben showed his collection of photographs inspired by and taken in the city... New York City, that is. The best part, of course, is that May Anderson was spotted wearing DOUCETTE DUVALL!! She looked amazing in Gigi Fools Gold from our fall 2008 collection.
